Rurouni Kenshin Ami Chibi Doll

Here he is, Kenshin himself! Created by yours truly. The pair is not finished and I can do a photo shoot with them. I plan on making several sets before posting them on Etsy.

His outfit wasn't as detailed as Kaoru's so I decided to make his sword for visual balance. What do you guys think? I like his pants so much, he's got scrawny lets under them!

Thanks for reading.

Sneak Preview! Chibi Ami Kaoru!

This video is about one of my first chibi ami dolls I have been working on! Featuring a sneak peak of Kaoru from Rurouin Kenshin. It's my second doll and I am really enjoying making them. My next one will be Kenshin. What did I learn most from this project? I'd have to say making the hair. Hair can be challenging and I had to scan several tutorials and look at a few photos to figure out my own method. Like I said in the video, if you have any questions please feel free to send me a message and I will be sure to answer them!

Also I wanted to share a link to the reference photo I used to make this chibi ami doll. Here it is: http://img252.imageshack.us/i/kenshinnw1.png/

Thanks for watching and reading!

Chibi Crochet Dolls!

I wanted to try making chibi crochet anime dolls and here is my first one. The characters name is Yoko from Gurren Lagann. I pretty much rushed this doll so it's missing a few details I will add later.

Handmade Anime Postcards

Hello all! It's been awhile, hasn't it? I thought I'd give an update on my current project, which are anime postcards. And yes, they are handmade!

I created a template in illustrator for the back of the postcards with my heavenly stuffed name. I print three to a page on index card stock.

I had a few Anime Newtype magazines sitting around at my parents house and went through them. After I tore out all the pages I wanted to use for postcards, I traced the postcard size over the pictures. To cut them,  I use an x-acto knife and ruler.

Full Metal Panic!

I wanted to share with you all the anime I am currently watching on hulu.com. It's called Full Metal Panic! When I was in high school I bought a manga issue and thought it was hilarious! I also became attached to the main heroine, Kaname Chidori (first name is Chidori).

Digital Art Anime/Manga Style

I have been thinking about drawing again lately in contrast to my excessive crocheting. Originally I had a talent in art and in the pursuit of it I still haven't found something I could use it for in a passionate sense, like my crocheting. But, I found these digital pieces I created over a year ago and got a taste of inspiration to try again.

Entertaining an Angel

My first digital painting was done in photoshop with a wacom tablet. I bought a couple of books on how to watercolor angels and stuff and came up with this design. An angel being entertained by a human in love with God. The idea is based on someone believing in a God that isn't seen, when angels know he exists and are fascinated with this faith in the unseen and it's power.

Packing with Totoro!

Hello all,

We are so close to moving now! One more week and a half and we will be able to move into our new house. It is so exciting, but at the same time a little crazy. My husband has been finishing up side work he wants done before we move and I have been trying to watch our daughter and pack in the meantime. You could say my plate is full for sure. I have us almost halfway packed.

In my resting time I have been crocheting. I recently finished Kira's Totoro hat for the winter! It was a very rewarding moment when I gave it to her and she recognized who it was. I about melted with joy!

My next project is a Totoro toy. I am starting small and trying to develop a new technique for the head. I am trying to create a head with a jaw/nose that is not round but pushes out from it. So, it's taking a little longer to figure it out then normal.

In other news, my husband informed me that season two of The Seeker came out!!! Why did he inform me? So that I wouldn't watch it on Netflix without him, haha! We watched the first season together and loved it. My mom still mentions I should take the time to read the books because they are ever-more detailed, which I believe her but, like I said earlier my plate is somewhat full at the moment.

With that said I am going to have to keep this blog short. The stuff in our house is calling my name to be packed! Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day.
