Felt Flower Barrettes for Craft Bazaar 2011

Here are the felt flower barrettes I mentioned in my last post. I will be selling them for $5 each or 2 for $8 at the upcoming craft bazaar this Saturday.

So I found out that I got my application in too late and the bazaar ran out of room for me. But, God gave me some favor! The last time our babysitter was over we hung out for a few hours after I got back from my night out.

Shawl/Cascading Scarves For Craft Bazaar 2011

Hey all! Here is one of the items I will be selling at my church's craft bazaar. They are shawls that can be worn like a traditional shawl or for a trendier look, a cascading scarf. I made these shawls with solomon's knots. I plan on making several more. I will probably sell them for between $20-$30.

New Items In The Shop!

Hello all! I wanted to let you know that I put some new items in the shop. Two of my new Amigurumi Chibis and some postcards! I made the chibi dolls awhile back and they took about 3 hours to make for each of them. The postcards were made a long time ago and I plan on making more.

Chibi Crochet Dolls!

I wanted to try making chibi crochet anime dolls and here is my first one. The characters name is Yoko from Gurren Lagann. I pretty much rushed this doll so it's missing a few details I will add later.

New Blog Design and Update

Hey all! I decided it's time to move forward with my blog graphics and made a new header. The poll for the mascots name was tied, so I decided to name her Puffy Yuffie!

It was really fun working in illustrator with this graphic. My favorite part was learning that I can use the pencil tool to draw and convert into vector art. I used it for the fire, logs, steam from the cocoa and the swirl in the mug. My illustrator skills have become limited since I haven't used it in a long time.

As for other news, my Etsy crochet jewelry did not sale and went inactive. I plan on wearing the jewelry instead! My next approach will be crochet chibi dolls. If there is one thing I have learned in selling things it's that you will fail nine times out of ten. This will be my fourth fail out of nine tries so here's hoping!

Thanks for reading!

My Etsy Shop

Well everyone, my etsy shop is finally up and running. I was encouraged by a close friend and felt it was time to do it. I have been waiting patiently for a sign, hehe.

I have crochet chokers and earrings up in my shop at the moment. Here is a link to it with my new banner:

Summer Blossoms Lineup!

Hey all,

I have been out of touch for the past few weeks and decided to give you an update on my latest work.  My aunt-in-law just opened a salon where she lives and asked family if they wanted to put their stuff in it to sell and I tried my hand and making crochet jewelry. This is what I came up with!

Summer Blossoms Jewelry
By: Heavenly Stuffed

I worked on all of it for about a week in a half. Making time for it was almost pointless, but well worth the effort. I am pretty burnt out from the experience and ready to make amigurumi again, ha ha! But I will make more jewelry soon, just need a break is all.

Meet Maya and her puppy!

Maya and her puppy are two cute amigurumi crochet dogs that are ready for a home!

Maya was named after two of my dear friends Patrick and Ness' dog Maya. The two of them are looking forward to a beautiful baby boy this month in November! My husband and I have known them for years now and love them very much.

I made Maya and her puppy with all natural cotton and wool yarn. This makes a difference if your little one will be sucking on the toys, you wont have to worry about anything 'un-natural' like acrylic. I also used plastic eyes with safety backing in case of prying fingers... The pattern came from Ana Paula Rimoli's book, 'Amigurumi World'. They are filled with fiber stuffing and made with lots of love and joy.

If you are interested in seeing them in the shop you can go here to see them: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33720888.

Thank you for reading,

Introducing Myself

Hello everyone!
This is my very first post. I have no idea what I should write about because there is so much going on in my life right now. But I suppose I should introduce myself for starters... My name is Rachel and I like to be called Rae. I am twenty-five years old and I have been happily married for 2 years and have a 10 month old daughter named Kira. I have lived in Northern California for most of my life.
I have been a stay-at-home mom/wife for a year and a half now and recently found more free-time to explore creative hobbies. I have always loved working with my hands. A few months ago in August I decided to give making crochet Amigurumi a try. This required learning how to crochet and how to read patterns.
My husband bought a book by Ana Paula Rimoli, "Amigurumi World" and everything pretty much took off from there. After a few minutes on the phone with my mom, who also crochets, I got the 'gist' of the art and began practicing. Probably after five tries of crocheting an amigurumi head, I moved on and began creating the cute little toys in Ana's book.
Every chance I got from taking care of my family and home I was crocheting. It quickly became an escape and relaxation time. I would crochet while my daughter took her naps, while watching TV, at friends houses, you name it! Since then I have finished 11 projects. Some from Ana's books, some booties for Kira, a matching bracelet and ring, gifts for friends, a huge Manta Ray of my very own and I even took a hand at creating Ele from the kids show Pocoyo for Kira! Which leads me to say the original reason I took up amigurumi making was to make toys for friends and family and possibly sell them online as handmade items for others to enjoy.
So that pretty much sums up my introduction here. There will be more fun posts of course about my daughter and 'heavenly stuffed' life so to speak. Please feel free to contact me about anything. I'd love to hear from you!
