Happy Valentines Day, Kira!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! I had such a special V-day this year. I feel truly blessed! My daughter Kira loves the movie My Neighbor Totoro and although I have made her a Totoro hat I hadn't made an amigurumi for her yet!

Here is the amigurumi I did of Totoro. She absolutely loves it! It is so heart warming to hear her say, "To-to-ro." This project took me about 4-5 hours. I used acrylic yarn that is called Impeccable that I really am happy working with. I also used a satin white yarn for Totoro's stomach.

I created a round and sewed it to his body while adding a little stuffing. I thought this looked more like his character then without the stuffing. Totoro does have a soft but big belly!

Crocheting is such a wonderful and useful hobby as a mother. I feel so honored to be able to make my kid stuffed toys of the characters she likes! Also, since I am a homemaker it is rewarding to be able to make her these things with a low-income but at the same time it feels like I am getting her something special! I feel like God played a huge part in knowing I would like to make amigurumi and I feel very loved by him for it.

There is a good chance I will make a pattern in the future for this. Please let me know your thoughts on it! I will most likely take more professional pictures during the daytime with a setting.

Thanks for reading!
